Housing blocks at the public Montalfita park
A project for 117 apartments laid out in two longitudinal blocks. Over and above achieving an optimal relation between the distribution and the structural order, the project seeks to make it clear that the brick acts only as an enclosing element, thus preventing the common misconception occasioned by its seeming, visually, to be a load-bearing element without in fact being so. At the same time its morphological qualities have been purified with a view to endowing the complex with the maximum sculptural intensity: it encases the downpipes on the façade; all of the openings extend to the structural frame of each floor and the brick nowhere comes down to the ground floor to avoid the gravitatory fallacy. On the urban façade, sheerness and regularity; on the other façade, looking onto the park, shadows and terraces.
